What brings you back to childhood?
Toys!
Vintage toys to be exact, as I am quite vintage myself (LOL!)
As I surf the net on my most modern and state of the art Mac set up, I find constant reminders of playthings from my past and take great joy and remembering these small bits of my history and those special friends whom I shared them with.

Plastic play wigs were quite chic to a six-year-old
when paired with a pair of mules made of
pink glittery plastic!

Then there was Ken, boyfriend to Barbie,
but every little girl's ideal... or so we thought
until we discovered rock stars and rock music!

See the green convertible? That was one of my
favorite Christmas gifts. Ken took my Barbie on many
a romantic drive in that baby!
What have you come across that takes you back to those
days when the most you had to think about was whose
house you were going to go play at that day?

Valentine's Are For Lovers
I have always adored the art of
Harrison Fisher (1877 - 1934),
best known for his lovely illustrations
depicting societies ideal of feminine
beauty at the turn of the century and
edwardian eras.
His women were "strong with vitality
of buoyant good health, fresh with
clear-eyed brightness, athletic, cheerful,
sympathetic and beautiful."
(Sounds like the ideal woman
today, doesn't it?)
His illustrations appeared in
the Saturday Evening Post,
Ladies Home Journal,
Scribner's, Life and Cosmopolitan.
Who doesn't love lovers in love?
Happy Valentine's Day!
