I have always adored the art of
Harrison Fisher (1877 - 1934),
best known for his lovely illustrations
depicting societies ideal of feminine
beauty at the turn of the century and
edwardian eras.
His women were "strong with vitality
of buoyant good health, fresh with
clear-eyed brightness, athletic, cheerful,
sympathetic and beautiful."
(Sounds like the ideal woman
today, doesn't it?)
His illustrations appeared in
the Saturday Evening Post,
Ladies Home Journal,
Scribner's, Life and Cosmopolitan.
Who doesn't love lovers in love?
Happy Valentine's Day!
